Gulbenkian Exhibitions Project

The Online Catalogue Raisonné of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Exhibitions is a research project covering a relevant topic and fundamental documentary sources for the Portuguese Art History and Museum Studies. It is based on a strategic partnership between the Gulbenkian Foundation and the Institute of Art History so as to systematically study and make accessible through an online database the Foundation’s activity in this field. This project will finally aim at contributing to the wider international debate concerning the History of Exhibitions, an emerging discipline of Art History and Museum Studies.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Institute of Art History share in this project its scientific coordination and the remuneration of a senior researcher. This partnership also comprehends a training programme for undergraduate and master students from the FCSH’s Department of Art History and the integration of PhD researchers. This is a 6-year long project, which was initiated in December 2013 and will be concluded in 2019.
