Claire Bishop in Porto and Lisbon

Claire Bishop will deliver two masterclasses and conferences in Portugal between the 16th and the 21st of June, in a joint initiative of the Institute of Art History/FCSH/NOVA and the Serralves Museum, Porto, sponsored by Maumaus and the Lisbon Goethe Institut.
These activities will happen both in Lisbon and Porto.

Foto Claire BishopClaire Bishop teaches in the PhD programme in Art History of City University of New York’s Graduate Center. Among her published works, are Installation Art: A Critical History (2005) and Artificial Hells: Participatory Art and the Politics of Spectatorship (2012), this latter earning her the prize Frank Jewett Mather in 2013. In that same year, her book Radical Museology, or, What’s Contemporary in Museums of Contemporary Art? was published. She writes for the Artforum journal. Her books are translated into eighteen languages. Currently, she studies the impact of digital technology in contemporary art and performance since 1989.
