Biography
Cátia Mourão has been awarded a PhD and MSc in Art History of Antiquity and has a degree in History/History of Art, all from School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH).
Her research is focused on classical iconography and iconology (mainly of roman mosaics), its origins and development in occidental art until our days.
She is a Collaborating Researcher of the Art History Institute (NOVA FCSH) and a Cultural Advisor at the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic, where she was the first Director of the Parliamentary Museum (from july 2014 to july 2017).
In the academic years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 she was an Invited Teacher (Lecturer) in Art History of Classical and Late Antiquity in Portugal at the History of Art Department of NOVA FCSH.
She has organised scientific meetings on Art History of Antiquity, co-curated Art exhibitions and participated by invitation in free courses, academic seminars, symposia and scientific research teams in Portugal, Spain, France, Turkey and Italy, with several publications.
