Biography
Ana Catarina Pinho is a researcher affiliated with the Art History Institute at FCSH, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and the Global Art Archive at the Universitat de Barcelona. She holds a PhD in Photography from the European Centre for Documentary Research (eCDR) at the University of South Wales. Her research focuses on visual culture and contemporary art, particularly examining how photography intersects with memory and history, archival production, and the politics of visuality.
Pinho currently serves on the editorial boards of Arte y Sociedad and Archivo Papers, and she is the convener of the annual academic conference Reframing the Archive. Since 2012, she has been the founding coordinator of ARCHIVO, an independent platform that bridges theory and practice in visual culture.
