Biography
Holds a degree in Fine Arts (ESAP, 2006) and completed a Master’s Degree in Documentary Photography and Cinema (IPP, 2010). Is the founder and coordinator of Archivo Platform, an independent research platform focused on photography and visual culture that has been active since 2012. Collaborated as an invited assistant at Instituto Politécnico do Porto (2013-2016), and at the University of Coimbra (2016). Started a PhD in 2017 at the European Center for Documentary Research (eCDR), University of South Wales, in the United Kingdom, with a fellowship awarded by FCT. Her research focuses on the appropriation of visual archives in contemporary artistic practice, exploring the dynamics established between the production of historical narratives and the representation of past events. In the context of her research, she organized the cycle of seminars “Reframing the Archive” (2018/2019), presented at the Portuguese Center of Photography and edited a book with the same title, published by Archivo Press in 2021.

Licenciada em Artes Plásticas (ESAP, 2006), concluiu um Mestrado em Fotografia e Cinema Documental (IPP, 2010). Fundou a Archivo Platform, uma plataforma de investigação independente em fotografia e cultura visual, que actualmente coordena e mantém activa desde 2012. Foi assistente convidada no Instituto Politécnico do Porto (2013-2016), e na Universidade de Coimbra (2016). Iniciou um doutoramento, em 2017, no European Centre for Documentary Research (eCDR), na University of South Wales, no Reino Unido, com uma bolsa atribuída pela FCT. A sua investigação centra-se na apropriação de arquivos visuais na prática artística contemporânea, explorando as dinâmicas estabelecidas entre a produção de narrativas históricas e a representação de eventos passados. No contexto da sua investigação, organizou o ciclo de seminários “Reframing the Archive” (2018/2019), apresentado no Centro Português da Fotografia, a partir do qual editou um livro, com o mesmo título, publicado pela Archivo Press em 2021.
