Biography
Begoña Farré Torras is an FCT-CEEC researcher at Instituto de História da Arte with a funded project focusing on mural painting theory and practice in Portugal and Spain, between the turn of the 20th century and the 1970s. Following on from her participation in two interrelated funded projects (PIM: Iberian Modernisms and the Primitivist Imaginary PTDC/ART-HIS/29837/2017, and Southern Modernisms EXPL/CPC-HAT/0191/2013), her research takes a transnational approach to the problem of the mural in modernism in Europe, while paying particular attention to the Iberian countries’ connections with Latin American muralism.
Begoña is a member of the RIHA Journal Local Editorial Team for Portugal since 2014.
