Biography
Francisca Gigante Godinho da Silva is currently PhD Candidate in Art History at FCSH, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (2020-). She holds a Master of Arts in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York (2015-2017), after completing a semester studies abroad in Contemporary Art Histories in London (2016). Prior to that, Francisca has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the Catholic University of Portugal (2012-2015). During the past years, Francisca has been working between Venice and Lisbon for non-profit art organisations such as La Biennale di Venezia (2017-2019), the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (2017-2019), and MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (2018), coordinating more than 250 international interns, writing catalogues and completing hundreds of interviews to contemporary artists and curators. She recently received the Seal of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Award. Francisca also holds a position as director at FITA – Friends In The Arts (2020-) and works as an independent curator in the art world.
