Biography
PhD candidate in Art History at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa with FCT scholarship. She completed the Bachelor degree in Drama, Art and Music Studies at the University of Bologna in July 2016. She obtained the Master degree in 2019 with a dissertation entitled “Girolamo Curti called Dentone and its Bolognese production (1575-1632)”.
Her research interests are related to the circulation of artists in the French Jesuit mission in China during the 17th and 18th centuries. She is also interested in architectural illusionistic painting (quadratura) during the Baroque Period and on its global circulation and on the circulation of perspective treatises in both Europe and China. She was visiting PhD researcher at the Ehess-Cnrs in Paris in the research group Chine, Corée, Japon in 2022.

Francesca Iorio é doutoranda no IHA e bolseira FCT. Concluiu a licenciatura em Drama, Arte e Estudos Musicais na Universidade de Bolonha em 2016. Obteve o grau de Mestre em 2019 com uma dissertação intitulada “Girolamo Curti detto il Dentone e la sua produzione bolognese (1575-1632)”.
Os seus interesses de investigação estão relacionados com a circulação de artistas na missão jesuíta francesa na China. Está também interessada na pintura arquitectónica ilusionística (quadratura) durante o período Barroco e na sua circulação global e na circulação de tratados de perspectiva nos séculos XVII e XVIII, tanto na Europa como na China. Foi investigadora visitante no Ehess-Cnrs em Paris, no grupo de investigação Chine, Corée, Japon (2022).
