Biography

Leonor Rosas is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at ICS-UL, where she is researching the lives of colonial statues in Lisbon and Brussels, seeking to intersect themes of memory, heritage, coloniality, power, and urban studies. She completed her Master’s degree in Anthropology at NOVA-FCSH, which resulted in the publication of the book De quem se esqueceu Lisboa? – A luta pela inscrição da memória anticolonial e antirracista no espaço público. She previously graduated in Political Science and International Relations from the same university. Leonor has written several articles and presented her work at national and international conferences, congresses, and classes.

From the point of view of civic and cultural participation, she is the co-author of the feminist podcast Lei da Paridade in the Expresso newspaper, was a member of the Youth Advisory Board of the Gulbenkian Modern Art Centre between 2023 and 2024, writes regularly for the online Gerador newspaper and is part of the editorial group of the online magazine Desatempo.

Leonor Rosas é doutoranda em Antropologia no ICS-UL, onde desenvolve investigação sobre o destino das estátuas coloniais em Lisboa e Bruxelas, procurando cruzar as temáticas da memória, do património, da colonialidade, do poder e dos estudos urbanos. Concluiu o mestrado em antropologia na NOVA-FCSH, que deu origem à publicação do livro De quem se esqueceu Lisboa? – A luta pela inscrição da memória anticolonial e antirracista no espaço público. Anteriormente, licenciou-se em Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais na mesma universidade. Já redigiu vários artigos em revistas científicas e apresentou o seu trabalho em conferências, congressos e aulas a nível nacional e internacional.

No domínio da participação cívica e cultural, é coautora do podcast feminista Lei da Paridade para o jornal Expresso, foi membro do Conselho Consultivo de Jovens do Centro de Arte Moderna da Gulbenkian entre 2023 e 2024, escreve regularmente para o jornal online Gerador e integra a redacção da revista online Desatempo.
