Biography
Maria de Jesus Duran Kremer studied Economics and Finance at ISCE (Lisbon). After moving to Germany for family reasons, she studied Classical Archaeology and Portuguese Philology at the University of Trier, where she was awarded a PhD in both subjects in 1999. 
She is a member of the AIEMA, of the APECMA and of ASPROM. 
She participates in numerous international confereces and colloquia in roman mosaics with publications in international Revues and Proceedings of national and international symposia. 
From 2009-2011 she was a  contract lecturer at the University of Heidelberg. 
2014 she launched the international project RoGeMoPorTur together with the Turkish Section of AIEMA and the Faculty of Archaeology in Bursa, of which she is the principal investigator and coordinator. As part of this project, the First International Meeting was held in 2016 in Alter-do-Chao, and the second will take place in early 2025 in Lagos.
She was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Portuguese Communities (Portugal, DGAPPC, 1999) and the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (on ribbon) (Germany 2012).
