Procurando responder à forma como estas práticas contribuíram e contribuem para a emancipação das “subjectividades femininas”, damos particular ênfase a discursos heterodoxos auto-retratísticos e auto-biográficos. Esta investigação visa estabelecer um enquadramento teórico e metodológico preliminar sobre o tema em estudo, com o objectivo de preparar uma possível candidatura a um Projecto Exploratório de maiores dimensões, a fim de criar um estudo sobre livros e edições de artistas mulheres a nível transnacional. O projecto contribui assim, para a linha temática do IHA Transferências Culturais numa Perspectiva Global; bem como, no quadro dos estudos de género e das mulheres, este seed-project responde à Agenda 2030 da ONU para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável e, em particular, ao Objetivo 5 focado na igualdade de género. A sua intenção é promover uma cultura de equidade e cidadania inclusiva contribuindo para os debates em curso sobre o tema e para o aumento da visibilidade da história da arte portuguesa, abordando especificamente o tema da sub-representação das mulheres no contexto global.
Seeking to respond to the way in which these practices contributed and contribute to the emancipation of “female subjectivities”, we emphases heterodox self-portrait and auto-biographical discourses. This investigation aims to establish a preliminary theoretical and methodological framework on the subject under study, with the aim of preparing a possible application for a larger Exploratory Project, in order to create a study on books and publications by women artists at a transnational level. The project thus contributes to the thematic line of IHA Cultural Transfers in a Global Perspective; as well as, within the framework of gender and women’s studies, this seed-project responds to the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and, in particular, Goal 5 focused on gender equality. Its intention is to promote a culture of equity and inclusive citizenship by contributing to ongoing debates on the subject and to increasing the visibility of Portuguese art history, specifically addressing the issue of the under-representation of women in the global context.
Objetivos / Goals:
identificação, análise e mapeamento de práticas artísticas feministas na área dos livros e edições de artista; com particular enfoque nas perspectivas que desestabilizam os papéis ortodoxos subalternos da identidade feminina, através de discursos auto-biográficos e auto-retratísticos;
investigar a forma como esta prática artística contribuiu e contribui para a emancipação e para a divulgação de artistas do género feminino;
estudar a formação e desenvolvimento da colecção de livros e edições de artista da Biblioteca de Arte da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian;
promover o conhecimento e reflexão sobre estas práticas artísticas junto da comunidade académica, artística e do público em geral;
promover a aproximação entre a comunidade académica e artística, as instituições museológicas, as bibliotecas e o público em geral;
contribuir para a consciência colectiva a respeito da urgência de uma política e de uma ética que visam a construção de sociedades inclusivas e a igualdade de oportunidades e direitos.
identification, analysis and mapping of feminist artistic practices in the area of artist books and editions; with particular focus on perspectives that destabilize the orthodox subaltern roles of female identity, through auto-biographical and self-portrait discourses;
investigate how this artistic practice contributed and still contributes to the emancipation and dissemination of female artists;
study the formation and development of the collection of books and artist editions of the Art Library of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation;
promote knowledge and reflection on these artistic practices among the academic and artistic communities and the general public;
promote rapprochement between the academic and artistic community, museological institutions, libraries and the general public;
contribute to collective awareness of the urgency of a policy and ethics aimed at building inclusive societies and equal opportunities and rights.
Outputs:
Submissão de um ou mais artigos, em março de 2024, a revistas científicas (em acesso aberto e, pelo menos um dos artigos, em revista indexada às bases de dados internacionais Scopus e/ou WoS).
Realização de um fórum com convidados especialistas na matéria em estudo, a decorrer em março de 2024, na Fundação Gulbenkian.
Planificação de uma exposição sobre o tema em estudo, a ser realizada em outubro de 2024 (data a confirmar) no espaço associado à Biblioteca de Arte da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
Planificação editorial de um e-book subordinado ao tema em estudo, a ser publicado aquando da realização da exposição acima referida.
Submission of one or more articles, in March 2024, to scientific journals (in open access and, at least one of the articles, in a journal indexed in Scopus and/or WoS international databases).
Holding of a forum with invited experts in the subject under study, to be held in March 2024, at the Gulbenkian Foundation.
Planning an exhibition on the subject under study, to be held in October 2024 (date to be confirmed) in the space associated with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Library.
Editorial planning of an e-book on the topic under study, to be published when the aforementioned exhibition is held.
