Biography
Rita Macedo is an assistant professor at NOVA School of Science and Technology, where she teaches contemporary art history and art theory at the Department of Conservation and Restoration. She is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Documentation for the Preservation of Contemporary Art in the same institution. She has a Master in Art History and a doctorate in Conservation and Restoration (2008) with the thesis “Challenges of Contemporary Art to Conservation Restoration – Documenting Portuguese Art of the 60´s/70´s.
She is a member of the research group Museum Studies of IHA – Art History Institute, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH).
Her research interests focus on values in conservation, memory and oral history for the preservation of intangible heritage and contemporary art. She has been developing research within multidisciplinary national and international projects like Documentation of Contemporary Art (FCT) NeCCAR (NWO, Holland),  NACCA (H2020) and T-FACTOR (H2020).
