Description

The Lisbon Studies Group (LxSt) was established at the Art History Institute in 2010. Its coordination has been entrusted to renowned scholars in the field of Olisipography, such as Raquel Henriques da Silva (2020–2022), Hélder Carita (2019–2020), and Pedro Flor (2010–2019). LxSt is a dynamic group of researchers with diverse scientific profiles devoted to studying and expanding knowledge about Lisbon’s imagery, artistic heritage, and urban, architectural histories. Aligned with Agenda 2030 main goals, the group is firmly committed to applied art history research, fostering social development and sustainable cultural practices. In the 2025-29 period, LxSt will continue to advance knowledge and promote innovation through three lines of action: Fundraising; Public Policies and Education. Reaffirming Olisipography Studies as a field of art history, aiming to expand the impact of research on Lisbon’s history, LxSt members engaged in different international projects with a focus on Digital Humanities and Education Through the Time Machine Europe Consortium (https://www.timemachine.eu), of which it is a member, and the Sensei Project – School Education for Sustainable and Equal Inclusion (https://aph.pt/projeto-sensei-school-education-for-sustainable-and-equal-inclusion/), respectively.
Over the years, it has secured several Research & Development projects, available in the Digital Resources section of this website contributing to open science and the lifelong education of our community.
